About
the
Mental Health Association in Texas
The Parenting Information web pages are sponsored
by the Mental Health Association in Texas (MHAT). MHAT is an
original affiliate of the National Mental Health Association,
the oldest citizens' mental health advocacy and education organization
in Texas.
Founded in 1935 as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization,
MHAT reaches out to communities across Texas to promote mental
health, prevent mental disorders, and improve the care and treatment
of people with mental illnesses through education and advocacy.
As the faces and voices of those affected by
mental health and mental illness are clearer and more evident,
it is our vision to develop a society where mental health is
the cornerstone of public health, stigma is eliminated and all
Texans have access to comprehensive, high quality, culturally
competent care.
